Count on Reviews is the UK-based operator responsible for personal information handled through this website. Use the contact form for privacy questions or to exercise data rights.

Information received

When the contact form is used, the site receives the supplied name, email address, subject and message. Hosting and security services may also process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser details and request times to deliver and protect the website.

Product data and critic ratings are collected from supported external sources. Following an external review or retailer link takes the visitor to a separate service with its own privacy notice.

Purposes and lawful bases

Contact information is used to respond to enquiries, investigate corrections and handle rights requests. The usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating and improving the service and responding to people who contact it. Security and technical processing supports the legitimate interests of keeping the website reliable and preventing misuse. Information may also be used to comply with legal obligations. Where consent is required for optional cookies or another activity, consent must be obtained before that activity starts and can be withdrawn.

Service providers and external links

Hosting.com/A2 Hosting supports the website hosting, and Cloudflare provides website delivery and security services. Contact Form 7 handles the contact form within WordPress, with messages passed through the configured email service. Google Fonts is currently used to load typography; a font request exposes technical connection information, including an IP address, to Google.

Awin and Amazon affiliate links may pass link or referral identifiers when clicked. Those services and the retailer may use their own cookies or similar technology under their notices. Count on Reviews does not receive a visitor’s payment-card details from purchases made at a retailer.

Cookies and browser storage

WordPress and the website’s infrastructure can use cookies for features such as sign-in, security and request handling. Catalogue filters are carried in the page URL. External retailer sites may set cookies after an outbound link is followed. Browser settings can be used to inspect, restrict or remove cookies, although some functions may stop working.

Optional advertising or analytics technology is not part of the current comparison-page implementation. This notice and the appropriate consent controls must be updated before such technology is introduced.

Retention and international processing

Enquiries are kept for as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, investigate the issue and meet applicable legal obligations. Technical records and backups follow the retention arrangements of the relevant hosting, security and email services. A privacy request can ask for details about a particular record or its deletion.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. The applicable location and transfer arrangements depend on the service involved. Contact Count on Reviews for information about a particular provider or transfer; UK data-protection requirements continue to apply where relevant.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, rights can include access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection to processing. Where processing relies on consent, it can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing. A request may require proportionate identity checks and is subject to applicable legal exceptions.
